September 7, 2021
THE AUGUST 2, 2021 YORKANA BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING WAS HELD AT BOROUGH OFFICE.
WITH ALL MEMBERS PRESENT.
PRES.STEVE DAUGHERTY OPENED THE MEETING WITH PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE AND INVOCATION
BY LYN McELHENNY.
SEC. REPORT WAS SUBMITTED. RUTHANN PALACIOS, MADE MOTION TO ACCEPT, LYN SECONDED.
MOTION CARRIED.
TREASURER REPORT WAS REVIEWED. BLADE KLINE MADE MOTION TO ACCEPT, MARV HENISE
SECONDED, MOTION CARRIED.
PATRONS PRESENT: ADAM AND CLOE SPANGLER(RESIDENTS). STATED THEIR NEIGBORS AT 82
MAIN ST. REFUSE TO MOVE THEIR FENCE ON TO THEIR PROPERTY LINE. COUNCIL STATED THIS
IS A CIVIL MATTER AND MUST CONTACT DISTRICT MAGISTRATE.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS: STEVE RECEIVED ESTIMATE OF $1000 FROM SMELTZER TREE TRIMMING,
TO HAVE THE 4 TREES ON MAIN ST. REMOVED, STUMPS WILL REMAIN UNTIL SIDEWALKS ARE REPLACED. COUNCIL ACEPPTED THE BID. STEVE WILL CONTACT THEM TO DO SO.
STEVE WILL CONTACT KINSLEY AND YORK EXCAVATING FOR SIDEWALK ESTIMATES.
MARV WILL TALK WITH LANDFILL CONTRACTOR.
BANNERS WERE INSTALLED, 15 WERE PUT UP, BUT 20 WERE ORDERED. 1 AT CEMETARY NEEDS
REPLACED. STEVE WILL CHECK ON THE BOROUGH SIGN .
MARV AND NITA MET WITH MAGISTRATE ON HOLLABAUGH ABANDONED VEHICLES, MAGISTRATE
STATED WE NEED TO GET OUR LAWYER TO ISSUE A COURT ORDER AND HAVE SALVAGE REMOVE
ALL ABANDONED VEHICLES.
NEW BUSINESS: BLADE KLINE ISSUED HIS RESIGNATION FROM COUNCIL, DUE TO MOVING OUR OF THE BOROUGH. COUNCIL ACCEPTED IT AND WISHED HIM WELL.
COMCAST CABLE CONTRACT IS DUE. RUTHANN PALACIOS MADE MOTION TO ACCEPT. DON DAUGHERTY SECONDED. AT SAME FEE. MOTION CARRIED.
CHRIS CRAFT ENGINEER REPORTED THAT CHRIST UM CHURCH IS SUBMITTING THE STORM WATER , DESIGN PERMIT. BOROUGH WILL RECEIVE ENGINEER FEE.
BLADE STATED THAT THERE WAS A GROUP OF YOUNG PEOPLE HANGING OUT IN FRONT OF THE ORT PROPERTY.
DISCUSSION ON FRYS AVE. POT HOLES. STEVE WILL TLK TO RON WOODS TO SEE IF HE COULD FILL THEM IN
CHRIS GROSH MADE MOTION TO PAY BILLS. LYN SECONDED. MOTION CARRIED.
